Kennel Flooring
QAny ideas on proper flooring for a dog run? We just built one for my 7-year old Bobby Lee, and the main problem is mud during our infrequent heavy rains.
AMedium size gravel, fairly smooth and rounded. This helps their claws wear down. You can also use a solid concrete run, this will do the same and make life simpler in picking up after the dog plus its convenient for hosing off urine. If you decide with the concrete then make little gutter channels on the sides. This option will keep the dog cleaner than the gravel. The best size for them is 30 to 40 x 5 feet. This way they can run around in it. If they are square, the dog will get less exercise.
